Recommended reference works in philosophy.

  • The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.  (constantly evolving, ever interesting)
  • A more elementary but also more complete source is The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy
  • A wonderful and fairly complete source at the intermediate level is the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy.  This is only available to those within the CU system.  If you are within CU's network, then this is a link to the Routledge encyclopedia  through Chinook
