The Colorado-Wyoming-Montana Division of Professional Secretaries International

Is PSI & C-W-M for me? If you answer "yes" to these questions, then PSI & C-W-M is where you want to be!

District - Division - What's the difference?

The International association is divided into six geographical districts. They are: Great Lakes, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, and Canada Districts. You are a member of the Northwest District and the Colorado-Wyoming-Montana Division.

Each district's membership selects a District Director who serves on the International Board of Directors and is charged with the administration of its divisions and chapters.

Divisions are smaller geographical units within districts actings as liasons between chapters and the International association. The Colorado-Wyoming-Montana Division is the link in the chain between its chapters and the International association and provides leadership and guidance to the chapters and Division Members-at-Large (a member with no chapter affiliation).

Who's in charge of the Division?

The Division's operations are managed by the Board of Directors, which includes:

Board members (other than president and parliamentarian) are elected to a one-year term.

What's an annual meeting?

The Colorado-Wyoming-Montana Division Annual Meeting is held each year in May. Official business is handled through voting delegates (usually the chapter president or other chapter officer) from the division chapters and the Division Members-at-Large.

The Colorado-Wyoming-Montana Division Annual Meeting offers an educational seminar and, of course, time to make new friends, renew old friendships, network -- all those fun things that make PSI a great place.

The annual meeting location is determined by chapters who bid and win the chance to host the meeting in their city. We encourage all members of the C-W-M Division to join us for these fun and educational events.

What about other meetings?

The International convention is held each year during July in a city within one of the six districts. Business sessions, attended by delegates from chapter and division membership, are conducted in accordance with parliamentary procedures to determine policy and action.

A district conference, presided by the District Director, is helf in October each year and serves as a report meeting. The District Director reports on the proceedings of the International convention and proposed plans for the coming year as formulated by the International Board.

How do I fit into all this?

Once you join a local chapter or become a Division Member-at-Large, you are automatically part of a division and a district. PSI is the professional resource for office professionals. Contact us to find out how you can become a link in the chain.
