International Meetings

In 1951, the Secretaries International merged with the National Secretaries Association. In 1954, the Articles of Incorporation were amended to establish international status. The Bilingual Chapter was installed in Mexico City in November 1957, and the following year a chapter was installed in Helsinki, Finland. Since that time, chapters and affiliates have grown, and we are truly international.

International dues were $6.00 in 1956.

Eloise Braidwood attended the "National Meeting" in Minneapolis in July 1958 which was also attended by the then Vice President Richard Nixon. He received the International Bosses award.

In 1963, the Denver Chapter hosted the International Convention at the new Hilton Hotel (now the Radisson Hotel). The Boulder Chapter helped make this event a memorable one for the 1400 International delegates. The Denver Chapter also hosted conventions in 1973 and 1983.

In December 1980, NSA,(I) became Professional Secretaries International. At this writing another name change is under consideration.
