"Parsimony Made Simple: Rosenfeld and Harrison on Animal Pain," Between the Species, Vol. 9, No. 3 (Summer
 1993), pp. 137-40.

Comment on paper by Robert P. Rosenfeld which places his critique of Peter Harrison's use of parsimony considerations to
deny the existence of pain states in animals in the context of Elliott Sober's more global critique of parsimony appeals in
general, and shows how Sober's analysis can  be used to diffuse a potential objection to Rosenfeld's position.
