![]() The point of this site is to give you some information about me, Derek Briggs. I'm an assistant professor in the School of Education at the University of Colorado, Boulder. You probably got to this site through the faculty page of the CU School of Education web site. That page gives a pretty standard summary of my contact info, research interests and education. In case you missed it: I specialize in
quantitative methods and policy analysis. My research applies
statistical and psychometric methods to address a wide range of topics
in educational settings. In particular, I have studied the
effectiveness of coaching programs for college admissions tests, the
potential for multidimensional analyses of testing instruments,
racial/ethnic performance gaps in science achievement, and the
development of large-scale standardized tests with diagnostic
utility. My most important published work to this point
includes Causal Inference and the Heckman Model and Meta-Analyis: A Case Study.
Copies of these and other papers are either available from me by request, by going to the Research section of my web site, or (soon)
going to the
research section of the CU SOE faculty web site. |
| My site has five central pages plus one external link, which are always provided at the bottom of each page. |
