The 2008 Summer Course in the Alexander Technique will be held July 14-19 in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.

James Brody's oboe playing has been praised in the New York Times for its "wonderfully euphonious spirit." Prior to joining the University of Colorado Music Faculty in 1986, Brody taught at universities in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. As a member of the Camerata Wind Quintet, he performed concerts in Carnegie Recital Hall and throughout the Far East. His study of the Baroque oboe led to the development of a program regarding Baroque affect and ornamentation which he has presented at the national conferences of the Music Teachers National Association and the International Double Reed Society, as well as at colleges and universities throughout the country. As an oboist, Brody has studied with major artist teachers such as John Mack, Ray Still, Jerry Sirucek, and Marcel Moyse. He has studied the Alexander Technique with Marjorie Barstow, Barbara Conable, Elisabeth Walker, and Erika Whittaker; was teacher certified at The Alexander Foundation; and teaches the Technique in the CU curriculum. Brody is the co-author of a textbook published by Schirmer, Rock and Roll: an introduction. His degrees are from Indiana University and The Ohio State University.
