Active Research

Researching and writing an environmental and political history of the global sustainable development movement. I will argue that there are serious flaws in global sustainable development programs such as Our Common Future (1987), Caring for the Earth (1990), and Agenda 21 (1992). These programs don't resolve the basic scientific, political, and economic contradictions that are creating the global environmental crisis.

Faculty Researcher and test-site liaison for the American Studies Crossroads Project. Studying the development and active use of the internet in teaching American Studies Courses. Writing an article on how teaching with the internet transformed my Introduction to American Studies courses.
