Independent Research, Independent Study and Internships

All of the faculty in the department offer credit through independent research, independent studies and internships. Students negotiate a project with an appropriate faculty member who oversees their work and evaluates the scientific paper written as a result of this work.

There are subtle differences among the three types of independent work credit, and the amount of credit and level of credit ( i.e., lower or upper division) depend on the extent of the project and the educational level of the student.
