I was hired as an assistant professor in the physics department at the University of Colorado at Boulder in January, 2006, and promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2013.

Before coming to CU I was a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University from 2003-5, and prior to that held a postdoc at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 2000-3.

I received my Ph. D. in 2000 from the Center for Theoretical Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where my thesis supervisor was Barton Zwiebach.

I got my B.A. in physics and astronomy at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT in 1995.

I grew up in New York City and attended Hunter College High School.
