Professor Fisher has done research in philosophy of language, epistemology, philosophy of mind, animal mentality, philosophy of art, environmental aesthetics and philosophy of music.

Area of Current Interest: Aesthetic theory, environmental aesthetics and Philosophy of the Arts.

Current Research Projects: Musical works in jazz, the aesthetic value of wild animals, creativity in nature, a defense of the distinction (but not the associated value assumptions) between high and 'low' or popular art, the nature of songs and popular music, the hard problem for aesthetic appreciation of nature and the relation of aesthetic qualities/properties to the terms we use to refer to them.
