Katie Hinko

I am currently a senior research associate in the Physics Education Research Group at CU Boulder as well as the Director of Educational Community Partnerships for JILA. As part of my work, I lead the PISEC (Partnership for Informal Science Education in the Community) afterschool and demonstration programs. I also perform research on participants in informal learning environments, both K-12 students and university student educators. My Ph.D. is in physics from the University of Texas at Austin where I designed a novel Raman microscope and measured the molecular composition of living cells in the field of biophysics.
