Course Description:
This is a basic course in complex analysis. We will study the
complex number system, functions of a complex variable, and the
differentiation and integration of functions of a complex variable.
Prerequisites:
Calculus 3 (Math 2400).
Homework, Quizzes and Exams:
During the semester there will be regularly assigned homework,
weekly quizzes, two one hour tests and a final exam. Your grade
will be based on your homework scores, quiz scores, and exam
results. These components of your grade will be weighted according
to the following formula.
Grade = HW(15%) + Quiz(20%) + T1(20%) + T2(20%) + F(25%).
Late work is not accepted. I will not give make-up quizzes, but
I will not count your two lowest quiz scores.
Grading:
You will be graded only on your written work. This work will be
judged on the basis of correctness, completeness and legibility.
Strings of formulas without explanation will not be accepted.
Paragraph organization (where appropriate), complete sentences
and correct punctuation are expected.
