Course Outline:
We will discuss modules and fields.
(Chapters 10--14 of the text.)
Homework, Quizzes and Exams:
During the semester there will be regularly assigned homework,
two one hour tests and a final exam. Your grade will be based
on your homework scores, quiz scores, and exam results. These
components of your grade will be weighted according to the
following formula.
Grade = HW(40%) + T1(20%) + T2(20%) + F(20%).
Late homework will not be accepted.
However, your two lowest homework grades
will not be counted.
Grading:
You will be graded only on your written work. This work will be
judged on the basis of correctness, completeness and legibility.
Strings of formulas without explanation will not be accepted.
Paragraph organization (where appropriate), complete sentences
and correct punctuation are expected.

HW: Due Wednesday Test 2: March 20
MLK, Jr. Day: January 21 Spring Break: March 25-29
Test 1: February 13 Last Day of Class: May 3
Final Exam: May 7

Don't wait until it is too late if you need help. Ask questions!
I am available during the office hours listed above and also at
many other times. If you can't see me during office hours, then
make an appointment with me to see me at a different time. I will
also give short answers to questions sent by email.
