Also, a belated note to Francis LaFlesche:  I have a pretty fair idea what the female name Na(N)ze'iNze 'meaning uncertain' means, too, cf. laza'(=ta) uNze' in Teton.  Presumably it refers to the arrangement in a female animal, mentioned in passing in a clan story, as such references are often the basis of names.  Another small victory for the comparative method, I'm proud to say.
