this site seeks to help adam and his fellow travelers navigate an electronic frontier. his research examines the geopolitics of migration and border management in the Black Sea region. his teaching emphasizes critical approaches to classical thinking about territory, sovereignty, and mobility to help students understand modern modes of exclusion. the Moldovan frontier might seem insignificant, but adam argues its production as an object of rule makes it indispensable as a laboratory for understanding how mobility and security are managed, perceived, and practiced across spatial scales to produce fresh forms of territoriality and forge entirely new spaces of exclusion.
