My scientific interests are centered on vertebrate ecology, biodiversity, and conservation, as well as the use of geographic information systems (GIS) for ecological analysis. I am also interested in studying butterflies and amphibians as indicators of ecosystem health.

Stower Beals
PhD Student 2009–

My research interests focus around biodiversity patterns in temperate and tropical environments, the ecological processes in these environments, and the effects of human influence on these ecosystems. I am also interested the role that land use and management practices can have in achieving conservation through sustainability.
