Laboratory for Microbial Evolution and Ecology
Lab Members

We are interested in the ecology and evolution of environmental microorganisms and microbial communities. Specific areas of research include:

  • microbial community ecology. We are interested in the general ecological principals that govern environmental microbial community assembly.
  • microbial biogeochemistry. We are interested in the microbiology of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and trace metal cycling in a variety of environments.

***We are currently conducting a community-wide metaanalysis to synthesize data on microbial community composition, microbial processes and environmental parameters. If you have a published dataset for which you have these three types of data on the same samples and you are interested in collaborating, please email us. ****
