The Nemergut lab is involved in an outreach program with a local charter high school, Boulder Preparatory. Dr. Nemergut taught a Microbial Diversity course at Boulder Prep in the Spring of 2006, and also serves as a school board member.
Boulder Prep was the first charter school in Colorado to accept expelled and suspended students. This unique and highly successful program requires college acceptance for graduation.
