Located in the Crossroads Mall area of Boulder, Applebee's serves up bar and appetizer specials. The menu changes constantly here, and you can find specials on everything from steak plates to Mexican dishes. The price is right and this makes a great shopping break eatery.

Barrel House

2860 Arapahoe Ave.

Located near CU, the Barrel House is known as a college hangout. The pub features American-style food, specializing in hamburgers, salads, pizza and steaks. The Barrel House features a full bar, and two patios. Open 11a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

Belgian Bakery

3267 28th St.

The bakery whips up delicious pastries and sandwiches. Open daily 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bennigan's

2550 Canyon Blvd.

Bennigan's offers an ever-changing menu of bar foods and beverages. You can get burgers, soups, salads, and tasty desserts at this eatery.

Black Eyed Pea

2600 Canyon Blvd.

The Pea serves homestyle Southern cooking. You get big portions of comfort food and the price is right. The Pea also makes great homemade desserts. Located near CU. Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

The Broker Inn Restaurant

555 30th St.

Located in the hotel, the Broker serves a fine continental menu for lunch and dinner. You always get the bottomless shrimp bowl with your meal, and the Broker also cooks up great steak, prime rib and lobster plates. Open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Buffalo Grill and Sports Bar

800 28th St.

Located in the Boulder Outlook Hotel, right next to the Best Western Boulder Inn, this has a typical sports bar atmosphere. So, if you want to catch the score of the lastest game, but don't want to move far from your hotel, go here. Has burgers, salads, etc.

Cafe Food

2079 30th St.

Cafe Food has been known for years in Boulder as a good place to get homemade sandwiches, soups and salads. Open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Chili's Grill and Bar

1729 28th St.

Southwest dishes, appetizers and burgers served up in a fun bar atmosphere. Located near the movie theatres and shopping malls.

The Dark House Pub

Walk a bit south of the Best Western, and East too, and you'll run into the Dark Horse Pub, right near the hotel. Math Grad students hang out here sometimes to chill out. Serves a mean burger and has a relaxed atmosphere.

Fancy Moose

28th St and Arapahoe

Located in The Millennium Hotel the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in an elegant setting. The Fancy Moose is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. And they serve an extensive Sunday brunch at 10 a.m.

Full Moon Grill

2525 Arapahoe Ave.

The Grill is located in the McGuckin's shopping center near CU, and serves up Italian-based seafood, lamb, chicken, pork, steak, and pasts dishes. The Grill offers indoor and patio seating. Open Sunday through Thursday 5 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 5 to 10 p.m.

Jin Chan

1915 28th St.

Jin Chan is one of Boulder's favorite Chinese restaurants. Jin Chan features an excellent buffet, Cantonese, Szechuan and vegetarian dishes. Open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 12 noon to 10 p.m.

Jose Muldoon's

1600 28th St.

Jose Muldoon's is a fun restaurant for Mexican food and specialty Margaritas. Jose's occasionally offers live music on the weekends. Open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Laudisio's

28th and Iris, North Boulder. Remember, you are saving this spot for the banquet night, Friday!!

Le Peep

2525 Arapahoe Ave.

Le Peep is located near CU and it's a breakfast and brunch favorite for locals and students. The eatery serves up omelets, potato and egg dishes, homemade pancakes, hash browns, and French toast.

Masalaa

1224 Pennsylvania Ave.

Masalaa South Indian Restaurant is located right above the Sink Restaurant on University Hill and is vegetarian. It specializes in Dosas (south Indian crepe).

Qdoba

28th and Arapahoe

Qdoba's Mexican Grill specializes in preparing tasty burritos, nachos, tacos, taco salads, grilled meats and other dishes. They add lots of unique flavors that you might not expect in Mexican dishes. The food is all prepared fresh, right in front of you, and made the way you want. You can order food to eat in or take out. Open for lunch and dinner. Patio dining in spring and summer. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Mon. through Sat. and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sun.

Ras Kassa's

2111 30th St.

Boulder's only Ethiopian restaurant, Ras Kassa's offers dishes like lamb stew and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant offers Ethiopian decor and an intimate dining experience. Occasional live music. Open 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily; on 30th near Pearl, so it's a bit of a hike, but worth it.

The Thai Restaurant formerly known as Sawadee

1630 30th St.

The Former Sawadee, under new management, is now located by the King Soopers shopping center, and the Thai restaurant still offers excellent Oriental cuisine served up for reasonable prices. Open Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Siamese Plate

1575 Folsom

Located near CU, the Siamese plate creates unique Thai and Japanese dishes that come in mild and spicy tastes. The restaurant also offers a sushi menu and Thai desserts. Open Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Sink

1165 13th St.

"Good Times, Great Food Since 1949" - what listing of Boulder eateries would be complete without this soup/salad/sandwich/pizza/burger place located on the Hill. Has great murals, plus, the added atmosphere that Robert Redford imparted while working here before he moved to Hollywood.

Souper Salads

Formerly the Boulder Salad Company, you get your bang for the buck at Souper Salads. For $5.99 you get as many trips to the salad, soup, baked potato, pasta, pizza, and dessert bars as you like. Open Mon. to Sat., 10: 30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sun., 11 a.m. to 8 p.m

Stick Oven Kitchen

Located in the Village Shopping Center, the Stick Oven cooks up American cuisine and oven-baked pizzas. Open Tues. to Sun., 11:30 a.m. to close.

Wok & Roll Teriyaki

Wok & Roll serves some of the best teriyaki plates in Boulder. You can order chicken or beef varieties of the teriyaki, served on either rice or noodles, with fresh veggies on the side. You can also get the spicy Yakitori Chicken, fresh sushi rolls and the new Nigiri style sushi. Wok & Roll offers generous portions for the price, it's healthy food, and you can either eat in or use the drive-up window. The eatery is open Mon. to Sat., 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
