My research centers on racial, ethnic, gendered, and classed issues as related to crime causation, the commission of crime, and the crime-processing system. More specifically, the research projects I have recently conducted have focused on domestic violence, Hurricane Katrina, Black Feminist Criminological theory, corrections and the death penalty, and criminology pedagogy.

Interracial Domestic Abuse
This research involves conducting in-depth interviews with women abused by intimate partners of a different race or ethnicity. (This research was previously funded by a post-doctoral non-residential fellowship with the National Consortium on Violence Research and an IMPART Faculty Fellowship Award.)
