Objectives: 1. To increase fluency in reading ancient Greek texts, especially prose.
2. To learn how to read unadapted texts, dictionaries, and commentaries.
2. To become acquainted with Lucian as an author and with ancient Greek
literature.
Requirements and Grading:
Preparation, Participation and Homework 30%
Quizzes (about six) 25%
Two hour tests 30%
Final exam 15%
TOTAL 100%
Quizzes and tests will cover material from Reading Greek and from the Lucian readings. Format will follow the exercises in Reading Greek, ending with Greek to English translation of Lucian.
