RESEARCH AND TEACHING

My research examines the interaction of nature and society, including the human dimensions of natural hazards, climate change, and land use and land cover.  My current projects focus on human response to extreme climate change, land use and the landscape ecology of development patterns in the American West, and how humans mis-interpret natural processes. I teach classes in environmental geography, natural hazards, and land use.
