In the event that you were ill and missed an exam, or if you are currently so ill that you expect that you might miss an upcoming exam, you need to provide documentation from a physician stating that there was, or currently is, a medical reason for missing the exam. Unfortunately, it is not sufficient to produce documentation that you simply visited a physician. Whether you can provide sufficient medical documentation or not, if you miss an exam, that exam score will be zero. However, if you do provide sufficient documentation, your course grade will be based on 100 fewer points than indicated on the syllabus. For example, if your course grade would ordinally be based on 600 points and you miss an exam for medical reasons, you will have a 0 score for that exam and your overall course grade will be based on 500 points. If you have further questions, please contact your course instructor.
