I am currently an assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before that, I was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health. I received a Ph.D. in philosophy from Princeton University in 2003 and an M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in 2005.
I work mainly in normative and applied ethics, especially bioethics. A current research focus is the role consent plays in medical treatment and research.
When I am not thinking about philosophy or recovering from acute wiiitis, I try to encourage the misconception that I am athletic and outdoorsy. I do this by posting, on various websites, pictures of the first time I ever went rock-climbing in my entire life.
