beginning piano for non-music majors
Take piano lessons with an undergraduate pedagogy intern this Fall! These lessons are for beginning non-music majors with less than one year of piano experience. The instructors are piano majors in their junior or senior year. No university credit. Dr. Alejandro Cremaschi, in the piano faculty, supervises the interns.
Interested? Read the following policies:
You MUST commit to attending at least 9 lessons this semester
You arrange the lesson time with your instructor
Lessons happen in the Imig Music Building (exceptions to be considered on individual basis). During the COVID pandemic, all lessons will be conducted online.
Some lessons will be videotaped
You MUST commit to practicing the piano at least 2 hours per week (split into several days). You will get access to pianos for practice.
The tuition cost for the lessons is $100 TOTAL, for 10 weekly lessons of 45 minutes each.
The FULL tuition is due at the first lesson. Pay your instructor directly
These lessons are not for university credit
The instructors are piano majors in their junior and senior years who are taking a pedagogy class this semester
The lessons are supervised by Dr. Cremaschi
The goal of the lessons will focus on learning how to read music, developing technique and coordination to play classical and semi-classical selections. Information also on chords and some music theory.
The material will be determined jointly by your instructor and Dr. Cremaschi.
