Cave coring device used to extract oriented samples from unconsolidated
cave sediments. The hand-operated hydraulic device can core up to 15 m
deep (10 m is the current record). The device breaks down into small
parts that can easily be transported through small cave passages. It can
also be set up in rooms with low ceilings (3 m). The device has also been
used outside of caves on lake sediments with excellent results. I
designed and manufactured this device specifically for paleomagnetism
studies at Cave of the Wind, Manitou Colorado. Contact me for more
information. (If enough people contact me about this I will add more
pictures and information about the coring device to this site.)
