Textbooks

Please note the first three books are required reading. If you choose not to buy one of more of these books, you may be able to locate library copies to check out at the appropriate point in our term.

1. White Privilege, Paula Rothenberg, Worth Publishers, Inc., ISBN 0-71675-2956.

2. Creating the Multicultural Organization, Taylor Cox Jr., Univ. of Mich. Bs. School, ISBN 0-7879-5584-1.

3. Managerial Excellence Through Diversity, Mary C. Gentile, Harvard Business School, ISBN 1-57766-016-1.

Two copies each of the next two books are being held on reserve in the library. They are for the individual presentations. You may also choose to read the assigned chapters on your own, but it is not required that you do so.

One copy of each is reserved for use in the library only. The other copy can be checked out for 3 days. If you choose to use the reserve copies rather than purchase the optional books, you'll need to plan accordingly, as there may be several others sharing the same books. Please be considerate of others and return your book on time.

A Different Mirror, A History of Multicultural America, Ronald Takaki, Little, Brown and Company, 1993.

Race, Class and Gender in the United States, Paula Rothenberg, W.H. Freeman, 2001.
