MATH 6270: Theory of GroupsFall 2015MWF 9:00-9:50 am, DUAN G1B25SyllabusCourse description: The topics we will discuss include nilpotent and solvable groups, the Schur-Zassenhaus Theorem, Hall's Theorems, the transfer and its applications, primitive and multiply transitive groups, and simple linear groups. Prerequisites: MATH 6130 (Modern Algebra 1)
Assignments:
There will be regularly assigned homework.
You will be asked to work on the assignments in small groups.
Different groups will get different problems, and
are asked to submit solutions to all problems in pdf.
When in final form, solutions will be posted.
You should read your classmates' solutions.
