I reside in the mechanical engineering department at the University of Colorado at
Boulder. I am also involved in the environmental engineering program.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching courses to both mechanical and environmental
engineering students.
I have an active research program that focuses on air pollution and energy use.
New items of interest for all:
The Center of the American West has been busy this summer. They have published two very interesting reports.
'What Every Westerner Should Know about Energy' that lays out the historical context and current state of energy use
in the West. The concluding recommendations are well supported and of interest to all. 'Making the Most of Science
in the American West: An Experiment' provides an insightful discussion about the role of science (and scientists)
in society. All who enter the field of science and engineering to 'serve' society should read this one.
Both reports are well written and very easy to read, so go for it!
Check them out at the
Center web site.
Get your certificate in Western American Studies. Learn how to be an effective citizen of the
West and have a pretty piece of paper to show for it. It couldn't be easier and does sound neat at parties, "Yes,
I am a certified Western American." Check out the program.
