Course Information:
This course is meant to familiarize the student with multivariable calculus. Topics to be covered include: Vectors, curves, and surfaces in space, functions of several variables and partial differentiation, multiple integrals: area and volume, surface area, change of variable formulas, vector calculus, line integrals, Green's Theorem, surface integrals, the Divergence Theorem, Stokes' Theorem.

Prerequisite:
Math 2300, Calculus 2.

Course Text:
We will use the text "Calculus, Early Transcendedntals Version", Edition 6e, by C.H. Edwards and D.E. Penney, Prentice Hall.

Assessment: If you are absent from an exam without a valid excuse, you will receive a grade of "F" for that exam. Examples of valid excuse are: documented illness (doctor's letter required), religious observance, serious family emergency. Leaving early for or coming back late from an out-of-town trip is not a valid excuse for being absent from an exam.
Class Hours and Venue:
MTWF, 11 a.m - 11: 50 a.m., MUEN E431. On Tuesdays the recitation instructor will be V. Radhakrishnan.

Consultation Hours:
Tues 10-11, WF, 4-5, and by appointment.

Homework Assignments: assignments will be given every MWF and will be due the following WFM. Some, but not all of the problems will be graded. Show your work. Late homework will not be accepted.
