2009 Outreach to afterschool science program. Presented talk on Mountain Pine Beetles and climate change to the High Peaks Elementary 5th grade after school science team “Global Coolers”. Their project on this topic won in the First Lego League competition, an international science and engineering program.

2006 Invited speaker.  Summit County Bark Beetle Taskforce, Dillon, CO.  Presented talk on current scientific understanding of why the insects are irrupting in Colorado, what can be done to stop them, what are the subsequent fire risks and how these risks can be effectively mitigated.
