TEACHING INTERESTS:
I have experience teaching an Environmental Science series, Air Pollution Control, Sustainable Energy,
Environmental Toxicology, Fluid Mechanics, Solid Mechanics, and Experimental Design & Data Analysis.
I enjoy all of these courses and would like to work on an Introduction to Environmental Engineering course, an Atmospheric
Measurements course, as well as a graduate Air Pollution Characterization course.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
My research has focused on characterizing particulate air pollutants at urban and
remote locations. These characterization studies have involved chemical speciation,
biological assays, particle sizing, origin determination, and epidemiology. My larger interests
include reducing health risks associated with particulate air pollution and
understanding how airborne particles affect climate.
In addition to the focus on particulate air pollution, my research interests have branched
out to include air pollution sampler development, and making sense of the current
energy use patterns and trends.
MEMBERSHIPS:
American Association for Aerosol Research, American
Chemical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science.
