Question 19: "I have a hard time getting committed in my relationships. As soon as I start feeling that my independence is being undermined, I want to leave. Feeling dependent on another person makes me feel weak and vulnerable. I'd like your take on this."

Kiro:

Independence and dependence are related.
Both are types of reliance.

Independence is reliance on yourself.
Dependence is reliance on another person.

When independence and dependence work together,
relationships become balanced.

When relationships are balanced,
they work with less effort and conflict.

Both people rely on themselves
and each other.

This creates harmony between freedom and connection.
Neither party feels smothered nor abandoned.

When you achieve this balance,
you will see value of dependence and independence.

When you have both in hand,
commitment will quit scaring you.
