Question 23: "I'm convinced that life is picking on me because everything seems to work against me. These feelings can become so strong that I get depressed and sometimes spend a day in bed to recover. What wisdom could you offer me?"

Kiro:

When you live in story called "Poor Me,"
you are focusing on one side of life.

You look for what you are not getting,
then believe life is picking on you.

When you feel life is against you,
you will struggle against it.

You can never win this battle
so you will add more suffering to your misery.

To change your thinking,
notice what you are getting from life.

This will make you more positive
so you can add light to your darkness.

In balance, you will be able to appreciate your riches
and also see your disappointments.

Recognizing your riches will make you love life more.
Noticing your disappointments will help you strive for change.

Balancing appreciation and disappointment,
you will find better way to live.

Instead of darkness making you feel lost,
there will be some light so you can make your way.
