Important announcements:
1. The second midterm will be held on October 30th, NOT October 28th. Here are the chapters and sections from the textbook that we have covered and will be relevant for midterm 2: Chapter 2 sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6; chapter 3 sections 3.1, 3.1a; Appendix C: C1, C2, C4a, C4c, C5, C6 a,b,c; Appendix D: D1, D2, D6; Appendix E: E1.
2. You have a chance to improve your grade on midterm 1. Redo the exam and turn in your answers during our class meeting of 10/2. The average of the two grades will be your grade on midterm 1. Of course, this is optional. For your convenience here is midterm 1
3. You have a chance to improve your grade on midterm 2. Redo question 1 item (c) and (d) and question 3 items (d), (e) and (f). These are worth 12 points. I will add the score you obtain on the redo to the score you have obtained on the original exam to form your grade of midterm 2. Your answers are due during our class meeting of 11/6. Of course, this is optional. For your convenience here is midterm 2
